The War of The Magi

Everything started back in 2001 when Yume was first written. Originally, Yume was a loosely-based fan-fiction that JADE worked on while in high school. Together, she and a close friend worked on their individual fan-fictions based on the same series. After a few years, JADE realized that she wanted to make the story her own. While her friend's work was sadly never finished, she re-vamped her story, change names, tweaked personalities, and made the story something much greater. Kekkai, The Second War, Yume, Kage, The Syndicate all combine to form The War of The Magi, a century-spanning work about what was once a strggle between brother and siter became a fight for survival among different realms. The majority of The War of The Magi revolves around Akemi, a young girl torn between fighting a war that she unwillingly inherited and living a normal life with friends Christophe and Tsukiko.

Yume

Though it's the third book of the series, Yume is the first to be released. It focuses entirely on Akemi and her desire to lead a normal live as a human girl - not a reincarnate of an Ancient Queen of the Mystic Realm. The story follows her as she falls in love and fights not only for her heart, but also for their future and their dreams.

The Second War

The second installment of the series is, again, heavily focused around Akemi. This will be released once Yume draws to a close and will feature Akemi when she is first approached to carry on Lucretia's wishes. Akemi, recently shocked by her family's untimely death in a car bombing is only in Middle School when the full weight of her destiny is thrust upon her by her Guardians Yuki and Zypher.

Kage

Kage, the sequel to Yume, revolves around a new set of characters including the supporting male figure in Yume, Sora. This novel is set in the aftermath of Yume. Novice mages are forced to accept their role in the greater scheme of the world's plans. Led by Sora, the Psychics of this installment (Cam and Yumi) follow their hearts in order to defend complete strangers while still dealing with their own inner turmoil.

Kekkai

The first installment of The War of The Magi, Kekkai is based centuries in the past and parallels many actual historical events. Instead of focusing on the human realm entirely, Kekkai maintains its base in the Mystic Realm with occaisional detours in the Mosnter and Human Realms. Throughout the series, the concept of closing the Barriers connecting the three Realms is introduced and causes much commotion and uneasiness among the Mystic and Monster Realms. Kingdoms fall, Councils try to maintain peace, wars are created, and two young Ancients take the throne in a kingdom in the Mystic Realm, ruling as an oligarchy for the first time in history. This is the war that stars it all: to allow free passage or deny access.

The Syndicate

The final installment of the series, The Syndicate, is the result of centuries of warfare. What once seemed to be large, decisive battles now seem petty. Set one-thousand years after the end of Kage, Ancient blood has been watered down over the years, causing man-kind's magical abilities to deplete greatly from the time when Akemi lived. A large organization called The Syndicate is rounding up what's left of the Ancients and using them to advance technology alongside the plot revolving around an ancient script, Lockwood, and Innocent. Unlike previous books, The Syndicate doesn't focus in on just one or two main characters. Instead, it revolves around a large cast of characters who each specialize in one or two kinds of magic, making teamwork, communication, and trust essential. But that's just the problem: in war, who can you really trust?
